pothi’s Story is a founded by two IITians Abhaya Agarwal and Jaya Jha based in Bangalore India. It works in the field of Print on Demand for books and Self-Publishing. is owned and operated by Mudranik Technologies Pvt. Ltd. – a Bangalore based start-up founded in February 2008. It offers a print on demand backed publishing platform which can be used by individuals and organizations for publishing their books in print at little or no upfront investment. The platform includes various publishing tools, services and an online store to help sell the books.

Jaya Jha, an IIT Kanpur and IIM Lucknow graduate, was in a high-profile job with an search engine Google. Jha wanted to publish a book of poems. It was the time when she was looking to publish a book of her own Hindi poetry. She quickly figured that traditional publishing would demand too much effort and her aim was only to publish for people around her. So, she started looking for self publishing options and she did not come across any in India. The entrepreneurial bug was there in her since her days at IIT Kanpur. This seemed like the right thing to do for her, where passion and profession could meet. Jha discussed the idea with her IIT classmate Abhaya Agarwal, who was at the Carnegie Mellon University at that time doing his studies. He was onboard with it.
